Ghanaian sensational musician Sweetkid has officially released his much-anticipated song “Life.”
Occasionally, an artist serves as a reminder of what resilience looks like. Sweetkid, a gifted musician from Tarkwa, Ghana, is that artist today. His story is about taking a step back, fighting silent wars, and then returning with a shout; it’s not just about rhythms and bars.
I had the opportunity to listen to Sweetkid’s upcoming release, and I must say that it’s more than simply a great song—it’s a message.
Sweetkid’s journey through music started years ago, with raw energy and passion that instantly drew people in. But in 2018, life knocked him off course. Not by choice, but by circumstance. He stepped away from the spotlight, leaving behind a trail of fans and unfinished dreams. Still, the fire never went out. He watched, waited, and most importantly, grew.
Now, in 2025, Sweetkid is back — and this version of him is nothing like we’ve seen before. He’s returning stronger, more focused, and with a sound that reflects both the pain of his past and the power of his growth.
What makes this comeback even more special? He’s dropping the track tomorrow, on his birthday. Talk about timing.
“This isn’t just a song,” He says. “It’s my second chance. I’m not holding back this time.”
And after listening to the new track, I believe him.
So to all music lovers and fans who’ve been waiting for something real, raw, and refreshing—get ready. Sweetkid is not just back; he’s back for good.

She has been living in the twin city, Sekondi-Takoradi, almost all of her life.

Ghanaian songstress and afrobeat artist Gyakie has taken over the trends with her After Midnight album. According to her, this studio album is highly inspired by the quiet, reflective, and creatively charged hours that follow midnight, when emotions run deep, inspiration flows, and the world feels at its stillest.
The songbird said, “Almost all the songs on the album were recorded after midnight. It’s within those hours that I find my best inspiration to write. The peace, the sounds from the birds, the serenity—everything about that time fuels my creativity.”
Beyond just music, the album reflects Gyakie‘s emotional journey and personal experiences. “I’ve also shed a lot of tears after midnight. “I plan my tears for when I get home from work, and then I let it all out,” she says when she’s feeling low.
The concept of the record is also closely related to Gyakie’s childhood. Whenever she and her siblings are together, she remembers a treasured family custom in which her mother would always pray for them after midnight. “It was and still is a routine. For me, that time of night is really significant.
